Welcome to Panama City Church of Christ

  • About Us

We are a group of Christians who desire to worship God as He has commanded us in the Bible. We do not follow any human creed nor do we submit to any human organization or headquarters. We follow only the Bible in all that we do. We are simply Christians, just like the Christians found in the New Testament. Jesus is our only hope, and the Bible is our only guide.

1 Peter 4:11 “If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God.”

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9

    What You Can Expect

    Friendliness

All are greeted with equal courtesy and kindness. “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” John 15:12 ESV

    (Romans 12:9-10; Galatians 3:28).

    Singing

All of our music is A cappella. Sung without instrumental accompaniment. “ … but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart,” Ephesians 5:18-20

    (Acts 16:25, Colossians 3:16)

    Prayers

We offer several prayers to God, praising, thanking, and bringing our requests to His throne. “Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 ESV

“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer.” 1 Peter 3:12 ESV

    (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

    Lord’s Supper

During each Sunday worship we partake of the bread and drink of the cup that are the body and blood of Christ. This spiritual feast is the remembrance of Christ’s crucifixion, the blood that was shed on the cross for the redemption of our sins.

“For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.” 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 ESV

    Offering

We follow Scriptural instruction concerning the collection for the saints. Purposed, cheerful giving is the work of the members of the local congregation.  We do not expect our visitors to contribute.

“Now concerning the collection for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do. On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come.” I Corinthians 16:1-2 ESV

    (2 Corinthians 9:7)

    Preaching

The sermon will be from one of the faithful men present, who have studied the Word of God diligently. You will find that we quote and follow the Scriptures.

“Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.” 2 Timothy 4:2 ESV

    Invitation

We close each service with an invitation for obedience to the gospel. When the church began on Pentecost in AD 30 the Jews who heard Peter speak were ‘cut to the heart’ by the Word spoken by God through Peter. “Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.” Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:36-38 ESV

Jesus said, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 ESV
